VSU Cares is part of the Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s Mission of Mercy, a 14-year-old program that has staged 68 such days, offering more than $30 million in free dental care that serves nearly 50,000 patients.

VSU Cares also included hearing, eyesight, breast cancer and high blood pressure screenings.

Dr. Terry joined nearly 500 volunteer dentists, dental hygienists and dental students as they cleaned, drilled, poked and prodded the hundreds of people who lined up for the free dental services.

People waited patiently during the ten hour event, in the bleachers, until they were called down to the floor of Daniel Gymnasium for services, which was turned into a monster-size, makeshift dentist office with fifty chairs.
